Letting Go of Busy: How Faith Helped Nicke Brown Reclaim Peace, Identity, and Purpose
What if the life you’re craving isn’t on the other side of more but on the other side of less?
That’s the question I kept thinking about during my conversation with Nicke Brown in Episode 11 of Divine Disruptors. Nicke is a wife, mom of five (plus three in-law kids she calls her own), Nana to two grandsons, and a multi-passionate entrepreneur helping women find calm, connection, and clarity.
But her life wasn’t always this grounded.
From Million-Dollar Hustle to Overwhelmed Mom
Nicke and her husband once ran a thriving business that hit nearly a million dollars in revenue. On the outside, it looked like success. But on the inside, she was stretched thin, trying to juggle motherhood, marriage, employees, and endless responsibilities.
The turning point? Realizing she couldn’t keep living that way. Something had to change.

Simplifying Life With One Small Shift
Her first step toward change was surprisingly simple: Nicke stopped washing her hair every day. That choice freed up 45–60 minutes each morning. It may sound small, but that reclaimed time let her cook breakfast for her kids, calm the morning chaos, and begin her days with presence instead of pressure.
“When you look at your life and are mindful of where your time goes, you’ll see there are places where you can get some of it back,” she shared.
This wasn’t about doing less for the sake of less, it was about making space for what mattered most.
Rebuilding Rhythms Around Faith and Identity
Nicke began creating intentional routines that anchored her in her faith. Her mornings now include gentle stretching, gratitude prayer, letting the dog out, a moment with scripture, and sending a verse to her sons and a friend.
She also taught her children identity-based habits from a young age. “When they know who they are,” Nicke explained, “the world distracts them less.”
For Nicke, faith showed up in the ordinary: peanut butter sandwiches, sunset photos, and letting go of what no longer aligned with her purpose.

Grace in Family, Business, and Beyond
One of the most powerful moments in our conversation was when Nicke shared how her son lovingly called her out during a season of offense: “Mom, that’s not who you are. That’s not what you taught us.”
That wake-up call became an invitation to step back into grace: for herself, her family, and her clients. Today, Nicke coaches women to reconnect with their true identity and build lives of peace and purpose.

An Invitation to Simplify and Surrender
If you’re feeling stretched thin or stuck in survival mode, Nicke’s story is a gentle nudge to pause and ask:
- Where am I spending my energy? Iis it aligned with who God created me to be?
- What habits can I release that are no longer serving me?
- Where is God calling me to simplify and surrender?
You don’t need a total life overhaul. Sometimes, it starts with one small decision like skipping the hair wash.
