“I believe God puts a carrot in front of me, not so I can reach it, but so I keep walking toward it.”
These are the words of Ina Coveney, a Catholic entrepreneur and social media strategist, in a recent episode of the Divine Disruptors YouTube series. Ina’s story is one of courage, clarity, and deep spiritual reflection. Her journey offers a powerful metaphor (what she calls The Carrot Principle) that reframes how we understand divine direction, purpose, and success.
In our recent Divine Disruptors interview, Becky opened up about her journey from survival to healing, from chaos to clarity, and how she now helps other women do the same.
The Carrot Principle: A New Way to View Purpose
Ina describes her relationship with God as one led by vision. Not vision as in a perfect five-year plan, but rather a fire or a deep, undeniable desire that keeps her moving forward. “God gives me a carrot,” she says, “and just when I get close, He moves it again.”
But instead of frustration, Ina sees it as divine strategy. That moving carrot, the dream that always feels just out of reach, is what keeps her aligned with purpose. It’s what fuels the growth, the obedience, the next faithful step.

From Corporate Comfort to Divine Calling
For over 15 years, Ina worked in a high-level corporate career. From the outside, everything looked great. But inside, she was unfulfilled. The work didn’t align with her fire. She took a leap of faith, leaving her job without a backup plan and that’s where her real journey began.
Now, Ina helps others grow purpose-led businesses, using her expertise in branding and marketing. She currently specializes in helping car dealerships create high-impact content, but even this, she says, is part of God’s plan.
“God doesn’t care what you do,” Ina explains. “He cares how you do it with love, integrity, and purpose.”
Hearing God’s Voice Through Prayer Journaling
One of the most powerful parts of Ina’s story is her practice of two-way prayer. After years of believing prayer was a one-way conversation, she attended a church-approved Life and Prayer workshop, taught by her mother. There, she discovered prayer journaling or writing letters as if they were from God to her.
“What came through my pen didn’t stop,” she says. “I felt God’s love so strongly, like He was giddy just to hear from me.”
This prayer practice shifted her entire relationship with God. She began to recognize His voice, feel His nudges, and watch for His signs in daily life from conversations to sunsets to unexpected opportunities.

Reparenting and Inner Child Healing
Ina believes that when we follow God’s prompting, even in the smallest way, it starts a ripple effect. “You may never know who you’re impacting. But your obedience matters,” she says.
She gives examples from her own journey: showing up on social media, saying yes to strange business pivots, even training car salespeople while none of it feels overly spiritual on the surface. But she knows each step of obedience has the potential to bless someone else’s life.
“I might not talk about God in every Instagram post,” Ina says, “but I want people to feel light, encouragement, and love. That’s the ripple I’m creating.”

You Don’t Have to Get It Right—You Just Have to Keep Going
This episode is an invitation to reframe how we view success. It’s not about arrival. It’s about alignment. It’s about trusting that even the left turns, the burnout seasons, and the detours are part of God’s design.
If you’ve ever felt behind, unclear, or like your dream is always just out of reach… this conversation will offer comfort and clarity. Because maybe, just maybe, that carrot you’re chasing is exactly what God placed there to keep you walking closer to Him.
