Breaking Toxic Family Cycles: How Becky Nieves Reclaimed Her Life, Her Voice, and Her Peace
In a world where toxic family dynamics are often normalized and dismissed, Becky Nieves is a bold and necessary voice. A no-BS cycle breaker coach, Becky knows firsthand the emotional weight of being the family “fixer” and what it takes to finally say, “Enough.”
In our recent Divine Disruptors interview, Becky opened up about her journey from survival to healing, from chaos to clarity, and how she now helps other women do the same.
Breaking Free from Toxic Family Patterns
Becky’s story begins in a home filled with dysfunction. Raised by a narcissistic father and an enabling mother, she started questioning things as early as age 14. Determined to understand her family dynamic, she pursued a degree in psychology, but even academic insight couldn’t solve the painful puzzle of her upbringing.
It wasn’t until she became a mother herself that the truth hit hard.
“I started seeing the same patterns show up in the way I was parenting,” Becky shared. “My kids were asking questions like, ‘Why are you always fighting with Pop-Pop?’ And I knew I had to make a change.”
The decision to go no contact with her parents was gut-wrenching but necessary. It wasn’t just about protecting herself, it was about protecting her children and breaking the generational cycle once and for all.

From “Why Me?” to “Why Not Me?”
For years, Becky felt angry at the Universe. She wrestled with a string of hardships, health struggles, and toxic relationships that left her wondering, “Why is this happening to me?”
But everything shifted when she asked a different question:
“Why not me?”
That mindset shift of seeing her pain as a path, not a punishment, changed everything.
As she began healing, she no longer saw her story as a source of shame. Instead, it became a source of strength. Becky believes we’re all here for a purpose, and that purpose often comes from the parts of our lives we once tried to hide.
Finding Divine Guidance in the Universe
Though Becky was raised Catholic, her spiritual path has evolved. She now finds deep guidance through what she calls “the Universe,” a force she believes opens doors and nudges her in the direction of purpose.
“I get the clearest guidance in stillness in the car, in the shower, in the quiet,” she said. “The Universe speaks when I’m listening.”
Her spirituality is deeply intuitive and personal, and it allows her to support women of all backgrounds, belief systems, and life experiences.

Reparenting and Inner Child Healing
Becky’s 8-week coaching program centers on helping women heal through reparenting, a process that allows people to give themselves the nurturing they may not have received in childhood.
“You can’t go back and change the past,” Becky explained, “but you can go back and give that inner child what she needed.”
Her method includes inner child work, rewriting personal narratives, boundary-setting, and practical tools like journaling, meditation, and affirmation work. Her goal isn’t just to help clients heal for themselves—but for the generations that follow.

Changing the Legacy, One Woman at a Time
Becky has seen firsthand how her own healing impacted her four children. “My oldest child was raised before I did the inner work,” she said, “and the difference in his experience compared to my younger kids is profound. I was a different mom.”
She believes that healing is not just about personal freedom, it’s about generational transformation.
“You don’t have to continue the legacy you were given. You can create a new one,” she said.
Why Her Story Matters
Becky’s story is raw, real, and filled with hope. It’s for anyone who’s ever felt stuck in family dysfunction, trapped by guilt, or silenced by shame. Her journey reminds us that we are not powerless. We can choose different. We can choose healing. We can choose peace.
