John 1:1 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
President Russell M. Nelson when a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles explained the meaning of the Savior’s title “the Word”: “In the Greek language of the New Testament, that Word was Logos, or ‘expression.’ It was another name for the Master. That terminology may seem strange, but it is appropriate. We use words to convey our expression to others. So Jesus was the Word, or expression, of His Father to the world” (“Jesus the Christ: Our Master and More,” Ensign, Apr. 2000, 4).”
