7 Scripture Marking Tools

I have quite the collection of favorite scripture marking tools. I have colored pencils, markers, pens, highlighters, and rulers in a little bag that are right beside my scriptures.

I have always loved new office supplies–maybe it’s the teacher in me! And don’t get me started on Back-to-School supplies!

I love new pens, markers, and fun papers to write on.

While reading and studying my scriptures or General Conference talks, I like to use a lot of color and a variety of scripture marking tools. Here are a few of my favorites:

7 Favorite Scripture Marking Tools

A red pencil is my #1, go-to, marking tool. There are hundreds of red pencils and it never hurts to have three or four on hand.

I have used this Pentel 8-color Automatic Pencil for years! I love it! I love that I always eight different colors to choose from at my fingertips while studying my scriptures. I have this filled with all my favorite colors. It’s so easy to refill with so many color options.

This is another favorite—a set of 36 colored pencils with a soft core. I love using these pencils to block off scripture stories and to highlight themes throughout chapters. They are great to color in a text box or word art that I sometimes include in my margins. This is the #1 set I use while studying General Conference talks. These soft colored pencils also come in sets of 72 or 150.

I found these black Sharpie Gel Pens about a year ago and love to use them to journal in my wide-margin scriptures. They write so smooth and they don’t bleed through my pages (my wide-margin scriptures are just printed on regular copy paper). I just bought the variety pack that includes green, red, blue, and purple pens–it’s always good to have many color options.

If you want more color options for journaling in your scriptures, this Sharpie Fine Tip Pen set is amazing–I have used this set for years.

Do you like to mark your scriptures with highlighter? Sharpie has this set of Creative Markers and Highlighters I purchased last month. I love that they have 24 color options and they don’t bleed through regular copy paper.

This list would not be complete without some clear, 6-inch rulers. I love having small rulers on hard as I mark words, phrases, and verses in my scriptures. These handy little rulers are the perfect size to make nice, straight lines in my wide-margin scriptures.
