Easter is a time of joy and celebration, a time to reflect on the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. It is important for families to keep Jesus Christ at the center of their Easter celebrations. However, with busy schedules, it can be challenging to find quick and easy ways to incorporate Christ into our daily lives during Holy Week.
To help families stay focused on the true meaning of Easter, I have compiled six tips to keep Jesus Christ at the center of your family’s Easter celebration.
6 Ways to Keep Christ in Easter
Attend Church Services
Attending church services as a family on Easter Sunday is an excellent way to keep Christ at the forefront of your heart and mind. Take time to reflect on the messages shared, and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your heart.
Read Scripture Together
Take time each day during Holy Week to read scripture together as a family. Consider starting with the Gospel of John, which focuses on Jesus Christ and his life, death, and resurrection. Use this time to share insights and reflections on what you read and discuss how to apply it to your daily lives.
You can also read the events of Holy Week–all the things Jesus did the last week before His death and resurrection.
Participate in Acts of Service
One of the best ways to honor Christ during Holy Week is to serve others. Look for opportunities to volunteer as a family or participate in service projects organized by your church or community. This could include cleaning someones yard, picking up trash, visiting the elderly, or helping a neighbor in need.
Practice Gratitude
During Holy Week, take time to reflect on the blessings in your life and express gratitude for them. Consider keeping a gratitude journal or making a gratitude list with your family. This practice can help you focus on the positive and recognize the many ways Heavenly Father blesses you each day.
Reflect on the Resurrection
On Easter Sunday, take time to reflect on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Consider reading the accounts of the resurrection in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Reflect on the significance of the resurrection and what it means for your life.
Study a name of Christ daily
During Holy Week, study one name of Christ each day. Define the name, read a scripture, and discuss a reflection question with your family during a short, daily devotional.
