In this episode of the Divine Disruptors series, I sat down with transformational coach and speaker Jeana Nuñez, who describes herself as a “hot mess mom” of four, a wife of 21 years, and a woman passionately devoted to helping Christian women step into their purpose. But what stood out most in our conversation wasn’t just her success, it was her complete surrender to the voice of God in the middle of her everyday chaos.
Jeana believes deeply that God is in the details. Whether it’s parenting neurodivergent children, navigating mental health challenges, or building a coaching business from the ground up, she has learned to rely on divine guidance with every step. What makes her story so relatable is that her connection with God didn’t come from perfection but from her willingness to listen, obey, and trust.
Hearing God’s Voice in Unexpected Ways
Jeana has always had a believing heart. Raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she shared how she felt God’s presence from a young age, even in the little things like finding lost toys through prayer. Over time, that connection matured into a spiritual partnership where God often speaks to her very directly.
“He knows I’ll act,” Jeana says. And she does, sometimes without understanding the why, but always with faith that He knows the full picture.
Her personal revelation often comes through scripture study, prayer, music, or moments of stillness at the temple. She describes it as an ongoing conversation, one where she’s learned not just to talk to God, but to take time to listen.

Obedience Without Knowing the Outcome
One of the most moving parts of our conversation was hearing how God often asks Jeana to do things that don’t make sense on paper. Like when He told her to get a dog for her son, who was struggling with severe anxiety. Or when He asked her to homeschool that same child even while she was battling a debilitating illness that left her temporarily unable to walk.
She had just added a brand new puppy into the household chaos… and then God said, “Now pull your son from school.”
Most people would panic. But Jeana trusted.
And step by step, God opened the way. She found tools, resources, and people who helped her teach her son using a right-brain learning method. “God gives me the big prompting,” she said, “but He’s also in every small step that follows.”
Trusting God With the Big (and Small) Decisions
Whether it was choosing to move states, stepping into public speaking when it terrified her, or coaching Christian entrepreneurs through their own mess, Jeana’s entire life is a testimony of obedience over perfection.
She talked about how hard it was to leave a comfortable community behind when her husband wanted to move. At first, she didn’t even want to pray about it because she already knew what God would say.
But when she did pray, the answer was clear: “Move. Now.”
And even though the next four years brought some of the most difficult challenges she had ever faced (like depression, health struggles, and parenting storms), Jeana now sees that season as the place where she came to truly know Jesus. “It’s in the dark that you really understand how much He loves you.”

Loving Your Children Through Their Spiritual Struggles
As a mother, Jeana has also walked through the pain of watching her children wrestle with their own faith. One of her sons became angry with God, and instead of forcing him to believe, she chose to love him where he was.
She didn’t hide her faith. She didn’t compromise her convictions. But she made space for his journey.
“I still invited, but I didn’t push. I respected where he was but I also stayed true to who I am.”

Final Thoughts: God Meets You in the Mess
Jeana’s story is a reminder to all of us that you don’t need to be perfect for God to show up. He’s not waiting for you to clean up your life or get your act together. He meets you in the messy middle, and He walks with you every step of the way.
“You are loved beyond comprehension,” Jeana said. “And when God asks you to do something big, expect miracles.”
