40 Day General Conference Challenge DAY 25

TALK: “Christ Heals That Which is Broken” by Amy A. Wright

NAMES OF CHRIST: Savior, Jesus Christ

“We can learn much from the scriptures about how our Savior, Jesus Christ, will help us successfully navigate the things in our lives that are broken, no matter our age. He can heal broken relationships with God, broken relationships with others, and broken parts of ourselves.”

-Amy A. Wright

QUOTE ABOUT JESUS CHRIST:

He is the source of healing all that is broken in our lives. As the great Mediator and Advocate with the Father, Christ sanctifies and restores broken relationships—most important, our relationship with God.”

Amy A. Wright

SCRIPTURE:

“She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. And the woman glorified God from that hour, and believed on his name.”

-John 8:11 JST

INSPIRING QUOTE:

Waiting upon the Lord can be a sacred place—a place of polishing and refining where we can come to know the Savior in a deeply personal way. Waiting upon the Lord .. requires us to exercise faith in Christ by intentionally choosing Him again and again and again.”

Amy A. Wright

INVITATION TO ACT:

Deliverance from our trials is different for each of us, and therefore our focus should be less about the way in which we are delivered and more about the Deliverer Himself. Our emphasis should always be on Jesus Christ!”

Amy A. Wright

PROMISED BLESSING:

We all have something in our lives that is broken that needs to be mended, fixed, or healed. As we turn to the Savior, as we align our hearts and minds with Him, as we repent, He comes to us ‘with healing in his wings,’ puts His arms lovingly around us, and says, ‘It’s OK…We can fix this together!’”

Amy A. Wright

REFLECTION QUESTION:

  • What blessings have come as I forgive, especially myself?

LEARNING STYLE STUDY IDEA:

VISUAL LEARNERS: Watch the Bible Videos of all three stories on churchofjesuschrist.org of healing: “Go and Sin No More”, “The Prodigal Son”, and “Peter and John Heal a Man Crippled Since Birth”.

MY THOUGHTS:

Three great examples of healing that leave me hanging– wondering what happened next.

I love how Sister Wright reminds us that we get only a small glimpse into the stories of women and men in the scriptures–hardly ever do we get a picture of their entire mortal life.

Give everyone grace. I hope they all chose Jesus–I hope I always choose Jesus.

Always remember that “Christ heals that which is broken.”
