MY THOUGHTS:
When did you gain your testimony of Joseph Smith? I remember being in the MTC (Missionary Training Center) the second day of my mission. Our teacher challenged our class to pray until we had a sure testimony of Joseph Smith and not to get off our knees until our prayer was answered.
I remember kneeing and praying for what seemed like forever. I prayed and waited and prayed and waited and nothing was happening. After quite a long time, the thought came into my mind, “Erin, why are you asking me about Joseph Smith? You already know. Why are you asking me about something you already know?”
I did know Joseph Smith was a prophet and had known it for most of my life. I went to bed that night with great peace and a conviction in my heart knowing Joseph Smith was a prophet, even if I couldn’t pinpoint the exact moment I knew.
