“Deepening Our Conversion to Jesus Christ” by Arnulfo Valenzuela

40 Day General Conference Challenge DAY 20

TALK: “Deepening Our Conversion to Jesus Christ" by Arnulfo Valenzuela

JESUS CHRIST:

“I testify that Jesus Christ is the beloved Son of our Heavenly Father. I love my Savior.”

-Arnulfo Valenzuela

SCRIPTURE:

“Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.” -2 Nephi 31:20

INSPIRING QUOTE:

“The scriptures and our knowledge of God are gifts—gifts that we too often take for granted. Let us cherish these blessings.”

-Arnulfo Valenzuela

INVITATION TO ACT:

“I invite you to have a permanent plan to study the scriptures. Come, Follow Me is a great resource that we have for teaching and learning the gospel, deepening our conversion to Jesus Christ, and helping us to become like Him. When we study the gospel, we are not simply seeking new information; rather, we are seeking to become ‘a new creature’ (2 Corinthians 5:17).”

-Arnulfo Valenzuela

PROMISED BLESSING:

As we study the scriptures, we will better understand God’s plan of salvation and exaltation, and we will trust in the promises that He has made to us in the scriptures, as well as in the promises and blessings of modern prophets.”

Arnulfo Valenzuela

REFLECTION QUESTION:

  • How do I feast upon the scriptures? Is there something more I can do?

LEARNING STYLE STUDY IDEA:

SOCIAL LEARNERS: Find ways to use the scriptures more in my teaching–in my home, at church, and wherever I go. Make a plan to open the scriptures in the first few minutes of a lesson or talk.

MY THOUGHTS:

Deepening our conversion to Jesus Christ takes time, effort, and a desire. Becoming immersed in the scriptures helps us build our faith and trust in Jesus Christ, to know Him better so we can testify of Jesus Christ. This talk has me thinking about how I can be a better student of the scripture and how I can truly feast upon the scriptures so they are written on my heart.
