40 Day General Conference Challenge DAY 5
QUOTE ABOUT JESUS CHRIST:
“I testify that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I especially testify of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer.”
-Rafael E. Pino
SCRIPTURE:
“And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.”
-Mosiah 2:41
INSPIRING QUOTE:
“Edifying customs and traditions are fundamental to our efforts to stay on the covenant path, and those that are an obstacle, we ought to reject.”
–Rafael E. Pino
INVITATION TO ACT:
“He invites us to let the normal things in our lives be those which help keep us on the covenant path.”
-Rafael E. Pino
A PROMISED BLESSING:
“I pray that our normality may allow us to experience that state of ‘never-ending happiness’ (Mosiah 2:41) that is promised to those who keep the commandments of God and that, while doing so, we may be able to say, ‘And it came to pass that we lived after the manner of happiness’ (2 Nephi 5:27).”
-Rafael E. Pino
REFLECTION QUESTION:
How do customs and traditions bless my family?
LEARNING STYLE STUDY IDEA:
SOCIAL LEARNERS: Discuss our family customs and traditions with my family. Discuss how we can make them more meaningful and focused on the Savior.
MY THOUGHTS:
This talk really made me think about the customs and traditions of my family. Do these traditions point us to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ? I have a role to play in keeping Christ-centered traditions alive in my family. –Erin
