“The Power of Spiritual Momentum” by Russell M. Nelson

40 Day General Conference Challenge DAY 31

TALK: “The Power of Spiritual Momentum” by Russell M. Nelson

NAME OF CHRIST: Prince of Peace

“We are followers of the Prince of Peace; Now more than ever, we need the peace only He can bring.”

-Russell M. Nelson

QUOTE ABOUT JESUS CHRIST:

“When the Savior atoned for all mankind, He opened a way that those who follow Him can have access to His healing, strengthening, and redeeming power. These spiritual privileges are available to all who seek to hear Him and follow Him.”

-Russell M. Nelson

SCRIPTURE:

For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.”

-Isaiah 54:10

INSPIRING QUOTE:

We have never needed positive spiritual momentum more than we do now, to counteract the speed with which evil and the darker signs of the times are intensifying. Positive spiritual momentum will keep us moving forward amid the fear and uncertainty created by pandemics, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and armed hostilities. Spiritual momentum can help us withstand the relentless, wicked attacks of the adversary and thwart his efforts to erode our personal spiritual foundation.

-Russell M. Nelson

INVITATION TO ACT:

My dear brothers and sisters, with all the pleadings of my heart, I urge you to get on the covenant path and stay there. Experience the joy of repenting daily. Learn about God and how He works. Seek and expect miracles. Strive to end conflict in your life.”

Russell M. Nelson

PROMISED BLESSING:

As you act on these pursuits, I promise you the ability to move forward on the covenant path with increased momentum, despite whatever obstacles you face. And I promise you greater strength to resist temptation, more peace of mind, freedom from fear, and greater unity in your families.”

Russell M. Nelson

REFLECTION QUESTION:

  • What did I learn from studying the footnotes?

LEARNING STYLE STUDY IDEA:

MUSIC LEARNERS: Listen to the song “My Kindness Shall Not Depart from Thee” by Rob Garner. What does this teach me about the love (Hebrew word “hesed” in footnote 11) of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ?

MY THOUGHTS:

I loved, loved, loved this talk. I took several invitations to heart and immediately followed them. So many great invitations–stay on the covenant path, repent daily, understand how God works, expect miracles, and end personal conflicts.

I was reminded of the love of God for those who enter a relationship with Him through making covenants.

Several analogies from the Old Testament came to mind as we climb up to live eternally with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ–Jacob’s Ladder, Moses going up and down Mount Siani multiple times, etc. Such a great day!

Notice the power of spiritual momentum!
