40 Day General Conference Challenge DAY 1
TALK: “Preaching the Gospel of Peace" by Russell M. Nelson
NAMES OF CHRIST: Jesus Christ, Savior, Lord
“Brothers and sisters, the gospel of Jesus Christ has never been needed more than it is today. Contention violates everything the Savior stood for and taught. I love the Lord Jesus Christ and testify that His gospel is the only enduring solution for peace. His gospel is a gospel of peace.”
-Russell M. Nelson
QUOTE ABOUT JESUS CHRIST:
“The spiritual darkness in the world makes the light of Jesus Christ needed more than ever. Everyone deserves the chance to know about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.”
-Russell M. Nelson
SCRIPTURE:
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
-Philippians 4:7
INSPIRING QUOTE:
“The gospel of Jesus Christ has never been needed more than it is today…I love the Lord Jesus Christ and testify that His gospel is the only enduring solution for peace. His gospel is a gospel of peace.”
-Russell M. Nelson
INVITATION TO ACT:
“We have the sacred responsibility to share the power and peace of Jesus Christ with all who will listen and who will let God prevail in their lives.”
-Russell M. Nelson
PROMISED BLESSING:
“I pray for you every day. I have also prayed that this conference will be a time of spiritual rejuvenation for each one of you.”
-Russell M. Nelson
REFLECTION QUESTION:
- How can I make General Conference a “time of spiritual rejuvenation”?
LEARNING STYLE STUDY IDEA:
INDIVIDUAL LEARNERS: Ponder and journal how to make this study a “time of spiritual rejuvenation” over the next 40 days to prepare me for General Conference in October.
MY THOUGHTS:
I love General Conference time! I love hearing from our prophet, apostles, and other church leaders. I love that President Nelson reminds us that he is praying for us! I gather great strength by knowing the prophet prays for me. I love being rejuvenated spiritually with answers, guidance, and direction for the next six months. So grateful that prophets speak peace to my heart and mind in times of uneasiness and unrest. I “thank thee of God for a prophet to guide [me] in these latter days.”
